Samsons Roll Past Wolfpack

Samsons Roll Past Wolfpack

The GCC Samsons finished 2023 with a convincing 36-point victory over Madison College on Saturday, December 30th at Just A Game Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells, WI.  Despite being short-handed and only having six available players, the Samsons beat the Wolfpack 77-41, and four of GCC's six available players scored in double figures.

The Wolfpack scored inside to start the game, but that would be the last lead they would have.  Behind two 3-pointers from Freshman Annabelle Besonen, the Samsons stormed out to a 19-11 first quarter lead.

Besonen, Sophomore Kylee Hewitt and Freshman Kate Borseth did all the scoring for the Samsons in the 21-point second quarter.  Besonen scored 9 points, Hewitt had 8 and Borseth chipped in 4 as GCC cruised into halftime up 40-18 on the Wolfpack.

The Samsons shared the ball very well in the third quarter and got hot from beyond the arc.  All 6 Samsons scored in the third quarter and 4 different players hit 3-pointers in the quarter.  GCC led Madison College 58-30 after three quarters.

GCC continued its strong offensive output in the final quarter, scoring 19 more points in the quarter.  This was the most consistent scoring the Samsons have showed so far this season, finishing the game with a 77-41 victory.

Hewitt led the Samsons with 20 points.  Besonen added 19 points in her best all around game of the season so far.  Borseth chipped in 16 points, while fellow Freshman Emmy Bobula had 11 points.
