The Samsons Basketball Golf Classic took place Friday at the Gogebic Country Club. The three divisions – men, women, & mixed - all featured repeat winners from 2023. Jack & Dominic Croci shot a tourney best score of 64 (-7 under par) to win the men’s championship flight. The father-son duo also won with scores of 62 in 2023 & 66 in 2015. Teka & Jeff Haapoja shot a score of 71 to win the mixed division in back-to-back fashion. The Haapojas are also 3-time champions, winning in 2023 with a score of 70.  Jennifer Sabourin & Sue Beals shot 87 to win the women’s division after carding an 88 to win in 2023. Matt Konoske & Jake Ansami were 1^st flight men’s division winners with a 74; while Carl Vaara & Gene Schleiss won the 2^nd flight with a score of 80.

Coach Mackey: “Despite cloudy & cool weather conditions, we had a great turnout of 80 golfers for the 2024 Samson Classic. Special thanks to the golfers, the hole sponsors, & the workforce who helped make this a successful fundraiser for the Gogebic Samson Basketball program. In sum, it was another great day to be a Samson!”
