The 29th edition of the Samson Basketball Golf Classic took place Friday under sunny & warm conditions at the Gogebic Country Club. Jack & Dominic Croci shot a low score of 62 (-9 under par) to win the event for the second time. The father-son duo also won with a score of 66 in 2015. Teka & Jeff Haapoja shot a fine score of 70 ( -1) to win the mixed division (the Haapojas are also repeat winners) and Jennifer Sabourin & Sue Beals shot 88 to win the women's division.
We had a great turnout of 76 golfers for the 2023 Samson Classic. From all accounts, play moved along at a good pace and everyone had fun on the course. Special thanks to all the golfers, the hole sponsors, & the workforce who helped make this a successful fundraiser for the Gogebic Samson Basketball program. In sum, it was another great day to be a Samson!
