Ironwood, MI - Samsons Men's Basketball signs on their first two players for the 2022-23 season. Hurley North Star players Braxton Sbraggia & Matthew DiGiorgio recently signed NJCAA Letter of Intents to attend Gogebic Community College and play basketball for the Samsons in 2022-23. Both athletes were major factors in the North Stars successful run to the WIAA State Semi-Finals during March.

The Hurley North Stars went 17-1 (24-4 overall) during the 2021-22 regular season and qualified for the 2022 WIAA Division 5 State Tournament losing 62-54 to the Bangor Cardinals.

"Braxton & Matt have experienced success in multiple sports at the high school level. They have learned that proper effort & preparation are necessary to achieve success.  These experiences combined with both guys having good length and athleticism will help them compete at the college level.  I'm looking forward to working with Braxton & Matt while representing the Samsons in 2022-23." -Coach Mackey.
